Discover Machu Picchu in 2 Days by Car

If you’re looking for a quick and convenient way to see the beautiful Sacred Valley and the famous Inca city of Machu Picchu, then the Machu Picchu Tour by car 2 days is definitely for you. With just one night’s stay, this tour will take you to Pisac and Ollantaytambo on the first day and then to the Inca city of Machu Picchu on the second day where you can enjoy the beautiful sunrise and even visit the hot springs in the small town of Machu Picchu.

The Sacred Valley of the Incas is located at the foot of the Andes, a beautiful valley that was of great importance to the Incas. The valley was filled with palaces, temples, and fortresses that are now recognized as a World Heritage Site.

Machu Picchu is an iconic symbol of the Peruvian national identity and an Inca monument that will continue to inspire admiration around the world as long as it is adequately preserved. To achieve this, innovative strategies must be used to mitigate the negative effects suffered by the monument, including the degradation of the soils and the walls of the Inca.

DAY 01: CUSCO TO HIDROELECTRICA

The tour begins with a pick-up between 6:00 and 6:15 from the swimming pool (Plaza de Armas) in our private vehicle. We’ll stop for a short 30 minutes in the Sacred Valley before heading to Ollantaytambo. From there, we’ll continue our ascent to Abra Málaga at 4400m, passing through the Aobamba river valley to Santa Teresa at 1500m and then to Hidroeléctrica, where a delicious lunch will be waiting for us.

After lunch, we’ll start our walk on a flat road towards Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, we’ll meet in the main square of Aguas Calientes, where the guide will collect our names and then escort us to our designated shelters. The evening will end with dinner at 19:30, where the guide will provide an informative lesson for the following day’s tour of Machu Picchu.

DAY 02: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHUPICCHU – HYDROELECTRIC – CUSCO

On the second day of the Machu Picchu Tour, you’ll be getting up early to make the most of your time in Machu Picchu. After breakfast, you’ll head to the bus stop and board a bus to the entrance of the Inca citadel. Alternatively, you can take the challenging Inca Trail which takes about an hour and a half to reach the top.

Once you arrive at Machu Picchu, your guide will take you on a tour of the site. You’ll learn about the history of the Incas and their unique architecture, and the guide will explain how the site was built, how it was used, and how it was discovered.

After the guided tour, you’ll have some free time to explore Machu Picchu on your own.

The journey back to Cusco can take anywhere from 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic and weather conditions. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel in Cusco between 9:30 pm and 10:30 pm.

Overall, the Machu Picchu Tour by car is an excellent option for anyone who wants to explore the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu in a short amount of time.
